Research and Planning: Film Name Ideas

Taking into consideration the topic of our film and the Genre it's difficult to come up with a name that will portray the Romance side of the film but also reflecting on the darker side of the film, however as the film has a darker nature we don't want the film name to suggest that the film will be depressing it might effect the audience's choice of watching the film. We also need to make sure that the film name will show that there will be an equilibrium and happy ending. The film name also should be short and snappy as to develop some kind of synergy around the film, which will help the audience remember it in their heads and tell their friends about it.

Here are some examples of Romance film names:
- The Vow
- The Notebook
- Pretty Woman
- Remember me
- Love Actually
- Valentines Day

I have noticed their seems to be a pattern of the title being two words, however I think that names like 'The Vow' are better than names like 'Valentines Day' as the word Valentines is quite long winded, and also might not appeal to some people as even though Valentines Day is a global holiday some people might get confused at what it is, including children. I also think that it sounds cheesy and predictable, we already know its a Romance you don't have to push it on your audience. However the Vow suggests different things, marriage vows? A promise of love? It leaves the audience wondering, which makes them remember, which makes them therefore go and see the film.
